"DON'T LET THE MUGGLES GET YOU DOWN"

Harry Potter is not the only one with a chamber of secrets. Secrets of the Southern Tabletop is a BUSH ROGAINE set in the beautiful southern section of Litchfield National Park, in a mysterious, rarely explored area, accessible by permit only.

Teams of two to five rogaining wizards will travel entirely on foot (leave your broomsticks at home please), navigating with the aid of a topographic map and handheld compass. Sorcery and GPS devices strictly forbidden! Teams will select their own order of visiting checkpoints, in varied terrain. The bush rogaine includes both day and night navigation. Teams can return to the Hash House for rest, food, socialising and spell casting as often as they wish. The objective of the rogaine is to amass the highest score by finding checkpoints in the bush within a set time limit. (Sounds much easier than a game of Quidditch)!

The Hash House for the Secrets of the Southern Tabletop rogaine is located near to the southern-most boundary of Litchfield National Park. Access is off the Daly River Road. You will need to allow around 2.5 hours to reach the Hash House from Darwin (approximately 180km). Apologies – the Hogwarts Express is not running at the moment.

Choose from two events:

9 Hour TOTALUS ROGAINE

Start at 1:00pm, finish by 10:00pm. It’s the total package. Beware though - by the end you may feel as if the Petrificus Totalus spell has been cast over you…

5 Hour WIBBLY ROVER

Spend a maximum of 5 hours on the course, any time within the 1:00pm to 10:00pm window. Can you overcome the jinx of the Locomotor Wibbly?

MAPS OUT from 11:00am. With no available places in the Gryffindor dormitory, there is free overnight bush camping on site instead. (BYO camping gear). DINNER and BREAKFAST are provided. (BYO potions)!

SATURDAY 9th JULY, 2022

IT’S TIME TO UNLEASH YOUR INNER DINGO…

Dingo Moon Rising01 resize

In Australia, there has never been a true wolf breed. However, a close relative of the wolf is the dingo. Elsewhere in the southern hemisphere, the full moon in July is known as the Wolf Moon. Here in the NT, we are calling it the Dingo Moon.

This event is a BUSH ROGAINE set in the beautiful Litchfield National Park, about 90 minutes drive south of Darwin. The objective of the rogaine is to amass the highest score by finding checkpoints in the bush within a set time limit.

Teams of two to five members travel entirely on foot, navigating with the aid of a topographic map and handheld compass. Teams select their own order of visiting checkpoints, in varied terrain. The bush rogaine includes both day and night navigation. Teams can return to the Hash House for rest, food and socialising as often as they wish.

The Hash House for the Dingo Moon Rising Litchfield Rogaine is located near to the eastern boundary of Litchfield National Park. Travel through Batchelor and along Litchfield Park Road. Just past the eastern park boundary, look for the NTRA signs. (If you get to the Termite Mounds, you’ve gone too far)!

Choose from two events:

9 Hour ROGAINE

Start at 1:00pm, finish by 10:00pm. Hey dingo moon. Come cast your spell on me. Traverse the bush through day and night, by the lunar light!

5 Hour ROVER

Spend a maximum of 5 hours on the course, any time within the 1:00pm to 10:00pm window.

MAPS OUT from 11:00am. Free overnight bush camping on site (BYO gear). DINNER and BREAKFAST are provided.

Johnny Cash would have been 90 years old this year. We commemorate The Man in Black...

This event is a metrogaine and uses the principles of rogaining in an urban and surrounding bush setting. Teamwork, strategic planning and map reading are features of the sport. Teams of 2 to 5 people choose which map checkpoints to visit within a designated time limit, with the intent of maximizing their score. It can be a wild walk, fun run or radical ride as teams plan their strategy and move through the course using the map provided. Great exercise for the body and the mind!

The “Walk Or Ride The Line” Metrogaine covers urban and bush environments around the suburbs of Nightcliff, Jingili, Tiwi and heading up towards Lee Point. Generally, it consists of easy terrain with roads and tracks to assist navigation, with a little bit of bush thrown in.

There are three events to choose from:

6 Hour   A CERTAIN KINDA HURTIN’ – WALK OR RUN

Johnny says you're not leavin' on a one way track. Life is rough so you gotta be tough. It’s a pain he can’t explain.

Maps out at 13:00. Event starts at 15:00, finishes at 21:00.

3 Hour   THE WANDERER – WALK OR RUN

Just like Johnny, you could be walking through the streets paved with gold, under an atomic sky, passing by a thousand signs.

Maps out at 14:00. Event starts at 16:00, finishes at 19:00.

4 Hour   RING OF FIRE – CYCLE

Burn, burn, burn some rubber as you pedal down, down, down the hills. The rings should be fiery and the flames should be high when you’re ridin’ down that ol' eight lane.

Maps out at 14:30. Event starts at 16:30, finishes at 20:30.

DINNER is included in your entry fee! Dinner will be served between 18:30 and 21:30.
