This event is an urban rogaine / metrogaine and uses the principles of rogaining in an urban and surrounding bush setting. Teamwork, strategic planning and map reading are features of the sport. Teams of 2 to 5 people choose which map checkpoints to visit within a designated time limit, with the intent of maximizing their score. It can be a wild walk, fun run or radical ride as teams plan their strategy and move through the course using the map provided. Great exercise for the body and the mind!

Watercourses & Whisky Tango Foxtrot will take place around Darwin City and its surrounds!  The Hash House will be located at Stuart Park Primary School.  There are three events to choose from:

6 HR STAGGER - walk/run

Maps out at 12:30. Event starts at 14:30, finish by 20:30.

3 HR SWAGGER - walk/run

Maps out at 13:30. Event starts at 15:30, finish by 18:30.

4 HR ROLLER - cycle

Maps out at 14:00. Event starts at 16:00, finish by 20:00.

DINNER is included in your entry fee - dinner will be available between 18:00 and 21:00.

A GENIAL MEANDER MINIGAINE

NIGHTCLIFF MIDDLE SCHOOL

This is a 3 hour FOOT event around Nightcliff and surrounding areas. The event has been set in MapRun and encompasses the natural and manmade features of the urban jungle in Darwin’s northern coastal suburbs. Runners, trekkers and walkers will appreciate the coastal environments whilst navigating their chosen route. Suitable for participants of all ages and abilities, including families, those looking for a casual weekend stroll and the elite athletes amongst us. The Hash House is located at Nightcliff Middle School (use the Aralia Street entrance) and dinner is included in the entry fee. The club AGM will kick off straight after the Minigaine at 6:30pm.

AGM is an acronym that may send shivers down the spines of some, but it is an annual requirement that is a necessity from a club governance and functionality perspective.

If you have competed in an NTRA event in the last 12 months, you are a financial member of the club and have the right to vote at the AGM.

If you would like to get involved at the committee level, we are always looking for people with ideas to develop and raise the profile of our quirky sport. The committee usually meets in a social setting 5 or 6 times a year.

Leap, Race & Pace covers urban and bush environments in Darwin’s northern suburbs, from Lee Point to Rapid Creek through Alawa, Nakara, Jingili, Tiwi, Brinkin, Muirhead and Lyons. All controls are within the green spaces in those areas. Controls are in MapRun, with some hanging controls also being used in natural areas to ensure location is unambiguous.  The Hash House will be located at Dripstone Middle School.

There are three events to choose from:

5 Hour LEAP – WALK OR RUN

Maps out at 13:00. Event starts at 15:00, finishes at 20:00.

3 Hour PACER – WALK OR RUN

Maps out at 14:00. Event starts at 16:00, finishes at 19:00.

3 Hour RACER – CYCLE

Maps out at 14:30. Event starts at 16:30, finishes at 19:30.

DINNER is included in your entry fee! Dinner will be served between 18:30 and 20:30.

Time to get your TINSEL IN A TANGLE at the NT Rogaining Association’s annual “Team Challenge” Christmas Bush Rogaine!

 

 

This is a fun 4 HOUR rogaine with a view to providing training and mentoring in navigation and map reading in bushland near the eastern border of Litchfield National Park.  Those who are experienced and have good navigational skills will be partnered up with others seeking to improve their rogaining skills.  Current skill level and enthusiasm will be taken into account when matching people up.  (You will indicate your skill level on the Entry Form, which is attached below).

What:                         4 hour “Mystery Team Challenge” Christmas Bush Rogaine.

When:                        Sat 2nd December 2023 – maps available at 12:00pm, rogaine starts from 2:00pm.

Home Base:               Litchfield Tourist Park (via Batchelor, Litchfield Park Road, Rum Jungle)

Rogaine Location:    Litchfield National Park (eastern border of Park).

Cost:                          Adults $35pp, youth 13-17yrs $20pp, children under 13 free.

There are LIMITED SPOTS available for this event.  ENTRIES CLOSE at 11pm on Tuesday 28th November (or earlier if all spots are filled).

The ENTRY FEE includes entry to the event, map, insurance, dinner and breakfast the next day.  To secure your spot, ENTRY FEE MUST BE PAID IN FULL USING EFT prior to 11pm on Tuesday 28th November.

The home base for this event is at Litchfield Tourist Park, which is about 14km west of Batchelor towards the Litchfield National Park boundary (on Litchfield Park Road). Participants can organise overnight CAMPING or ACCOMMODATION (at their own cost) by visiting the Litchfield Tourist Park website at www.litchfieldtouristpark.com.au or phoning 8976 0070. Dinner after the event on Saturday evening and breakfast on Sunday morning will be served by NTRA in the Group Shed at Litchfield Tourist Park.

This event is a traditional bush rogaine and is taking place around the Manton Dam area. It is an amazingly large tract of undulating country with excellent diversity, and only a short drive from Darwin (approximately 70km south on the Stuart Highway).

Manton Dam was originally constructed by the Department of Defence during the Second World War to provide a reliable supply of fresh water to Darwin. It was completed in 1942.

There is something for everyone in this event, from the novice rogainer to the more experienced. Two courses are available - the 9hr Quest (rogaine) and the 4hr Odyssey (rover).

The Hash House will be serving appetising meals from just after sunset, so once you have finished your event, pull up around the camp and enjoy the company of your fellow participants.

Why Half Moon? The moon will be in the waxing gibbous phase, when the illuminated part of the moon is greater than 50.1%.

Why Lantern? Because it rhymes with Manton! And pertains to light…

In September, things are a bit less hectic in the Top End. It is starting to warm up as well, but if you are after a fun challenge, this is an event for you. We need to be precise with catering so please do not wait until the last couple of days to enter - please help our volunteers by sending your entry in as soon as you have your team together.
